Update – post offices in Truro and Falmouth
Posted by Charlotte MacKenzie on December 12, 2008
In Falmouth and Truro, lots of people expressed concern that proposed closures would leave the remaining post offices struggling to cope. Since the closures, things have simply got worse. Truro – which has a working day population of 32,000 – is now left with just one post office at High Cross, as the Lemon Quay post office is closed until further notice in the busy run up to Christmas – it is in a shop operated by Nearby Stores which has gone into liquidation. In Falmouth, the post office expected to stay open in the centre of town on Falmouth Moor must also now look for alternative premises. People in Falmouth and Truro want acceptable access to post office services, not to say we “told you so”. Time to write to Post Office Ltd again.
